Welcome new and returning members to the California State University, Fresno Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. Within the business field, accounting is a vital element for any business. The role of an accountant is to provide management, and/or customers, with financial records to determine the growth and success of their business.  Therefore, it is essential that we not only understand the technical aspects of accounting, but also are able to communicate on a professional level. The classroom provides students with the basic knowledge of accounting, whereas student organizations, such as IMA, can help students enhance their professional skills outside the classroom.

    With its weekly meetings, IMA gives students the opportunity to interact and network amongst their peers and professionals, as well as expand their knowledge of the accounting profession. Other events such as community service, socials, plant tours, guest speakers, parent chapter meetings, and fundraisers allow students to create networks and long-lasting friendships.
